For his Ultraviolet tour in North America, world-renowned producer and DJ 3LAU mandated Montreal-based studio GRIDSPACE to oversee the content creation and production, as well as the real-time visual performance, for his show.
Located in the creative core of Montreal’s Mile-End neighborhood, GRIDSPACE creates, animates, and produces content for multiple platforms. The studio specializes in immersive experiences that combine art and technology. “GRIDSPACE’s innovative, creative, and avant-garde approach is the reason we hired the studio to design the visual effects for my new stage opus: Ultraviolet,” said Justin Blau, the producer and DJ better known by his stage name 3LAU.
This collaboration aspires to enhance the musical experience by taking fans to a parallel dimension where their senses are stimulated.
Inspired by the meaning of the term “ultraviolet, ‘’ultra’’ means very, extremely and ‘’violet’’ is the closest of invisible. Our creative approach has been inspired by these meanings. As the impact of ultraviolet on human, the visual approach would be received as a dose of energy by the fans.

Justin Blau, AKA 3LAU, is a rarity in the music industry: A successful recording artist, DJ, and producer whose main goal is not fame, but helping others. Raised in New York and Las Vegas by parents who emphasized the importance of charitable work, Blau left college, where he studied finance, and the promise of a career in business to pursue his dream of making music. He went on to release a string of well-received original tracks, including “How You Love Me,” “Is It Love,” “Fire,” “On My Mind,” “Hot Water,” and “Star Crossed,” as well as remixes for Rihanna, Katy Perry, Shawn Mendes, and Ariana Grande – all of which have racked up millions of streams. Most recently, he released his debut album Ultraviolet featuring new single “Touch” feat. Carly Paige. He also built his reputation as a must see live performer, appearing at such major festivals as Electric Zoo, EDC Vegas, and Lollapalooza, and tours extensively internationally. But unwilling to take and not give back, Blau has used his business savvy to parlay his success into doing good. In 2016 Blau launched Blume Records, an independent label with a ground-breaking model that harnesses the power of streaming to raise money for charitable causes. To learn more, visit www.3LAU.com
